Womb-am – day 2018

Remember these uplifting, exciting, inspiring days……..

We are SISTERS on TODAY, and we can do it EVERY DAY of the year.

And deep in the body of  ‘womb-am’ is growing………. love and acceptance of all-of-me, compassion for my Sisters (and all beings) and the consciousness spreading that THIS is OUR TIME.

When Consciousness is rooted in here, (point finger to womb) it is FemActivism….. hastening the end of approx 6 thousand years of dysfunctional male dominance

Those true, real men, who support our Sisterhood, are ashamed that this rotten system has gone on so long, are in with us.

Still, I’m clear that we need to do it for ourselves.  Pulling myself up by my own boot straps, redefining Whoomanity for me, my children, my beloveds the whole Whooman race in the very way I live my own life, here and now.

So really do salute each and every woman you meet today and everyday,

connect in body and in spirit

with a smile, a hug, a gesture

we are kin

we are SISTERS

I create the NEW ERA in here, IN MY WOMB this WOMB-ans’ DAY, every day

Woman – the most undervalued renewable resource on the planet

Womans’ Wisdom – the depths of compassion and human feeling that arises from our ability to bear life, is the part of being human that we Women need to value more highly.  Once we do, our “civilisations” will follow suit.

Woman will wake up and value her body.  She will proudly nurture and care for her magical ability to create life.  Then society will truly feel a change.

What does Nurture and Care-for mean?

To me, it means more than adorning the outside with paint and clothing, it means more than a superficial massage with essential oils, lovely though that feels……………..

It means declaring proudly “I’m having my period at the moment so I’m taking a break…”

“….I’m going to spend quiet quality time with my Sisters. I’ll restore, replenish and inspire myself to share myself and my gifts “,  “I’m entitled to time off just like you, so make supper and I’ll come home and share it with you……….”

This Woman is in the supermarket queue just behind you; she is waiting at the school gate, she is on the internet.  Talk to her, listen to her story, share your common womanality – it will bear untold gifts.

Hair Mineral Analysis for Health

Hair Mineral Analysis

Why Are Minerals Important for YOUR Health?

Although often overlooked, nutritional minerals are critical for a vital life and abundant health. Your body needs them for the efficient functioning of your cells, skeleton, nerves, muscles, immunity, glands, enzymes, water and acid/alkaline balance and even DNA – essential functions in a healthy body.

However, testing is needed if you want to know how your mineral status is working for you.

Blood is widely used for medical tests. However, a blood test is an invasive procedure, which most of us prefer to avoid.  Also, mineral levels in blood fluctuate, so can be unreliable.  Fortunately, there is an alternative – hair.

Hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA) is an analytical test which measures the mineral content of your hair.  It reveals information about how your body is functioning which cannot be seen through most other tests.

Why it is good to test YOUR hair?

We use your hair for mineral testing because it allows us to see what has been happening during the period of hair growth and development.

Your hair is affected by your blood, lymph and extra-cellular fluids as it is growing. As growth continues and the hair strand reaches the surface of the skin, its outer layers harden, locking in the metabolic products gathered during the period of formation. This biological process provides a lasting record of your mineral status and the nutritional activity that has been going on in your body over a period of months or years.

What can cause you to have a Mineral imbalance?

Diet – Eating a diet with a high intake of refined and processed foods and alcohol, and fad diets, can all result in a chemical imbalance. Even the nutrient content of a “healthy” diet can be inadequate, depending upon the soil in which the food was grown or the method in which it was prepared

Stress – Physical or emotional stress can deplete your body of nutrients and reduce its ability to absorb and utilize nutrients from your food, which means that you will be prone to a variety of infections or degenerative conditions.

Medications – Both prescription and over-the-counter medications can deplete your body’s stores of nutrient minerals and/or increase the levels of toxic metals.  This can weaken your defences in the face of pollution and infection.

Pollution – From adolescence through adulthood the average person is continually exposed to a variety of toxic metal sources, for example, cigarette smoke (cadmium), hair dyes (lead), hydrogenated oils (nickel), anti-perspirants (aluminum), dental amalgams (mercury and cadmium), copper and aluminum cookware and lead-based cosmetics.

These are just a few of the hundreds of sources which can contribute to nutritional imbalances and malfunctions eg; petrol fumes can have a negative impact on asthma.  (See Toxic Load)

Nutritional Supplements – Taking incorrect supplements or improper amounts of supplements can produce many vitamin and mineral excesses and/or deficiencies, which can give you an overall biochemical imbalance eg; taking too much calcium can reduce your levels of magnesium.

Inherited Patterns – You can inherit a predisposition toward certain mineral imbalances, deficiencies and excesses from your parents.  However, this can often be corrected with the appropriate nutritional advice, supplements and lifestyle support.

Why test the hair, why not use the blood?

  • hair can be cut easily and painlessly and can be sent to the lab without special handling requirements
  • clinical results have shown that a properly obtained sample can give an indication of mineral status and toxic metal accumulation following long term or even acute exposure
  • hair testing can be more reliable for certain types of investigations, showing long term trends

What effects Minerals

Modern life has a massive effect on your body, and how it absorbs minerals and other nutrients.  Factors that can affect mineral nutrition include;

  • Food preparation,
  • dietary habits,
  • genetic and metabolic disorders,
  • disease,
  • medications,
  • stress,
  • environmental factors,
  • exposure to heavy metals

all of which are known to lead to multiple mineral deficiencies and imbalances.

How is a Hair Mineral test done?

We take a small sample of hair from your neck or other body area and send it away for testing, using highly sophisticated detection equipment and methods to achieve the most accurate and precise results. The result is a sensitive indicator of the long-term effects of your diet, stress, toxic metal exposure and their effects on your mineral balance.  This information is difficult to obtain through other clinical tests.

When devising a Nutrition and Lifestyle Programme for you, your Naturopath will take many factors into consideration, in order to interpret your test results for you, such as your childhood experiences, medical history, response to therapy and where possible, results of a physical examination.

You will be amazed at the amount of lifestyle information and nutritional guidance that can be gained from using this easy, painless, and inexpensive test.
